Film Pacing Proposal

For this film I did a little research on the pacing of scenes. While I do not yet know the exact content that the video will show, I have found that symmetry and pattern are important elements in film. For that reason, I have come up with a semi repetitive and symmetrical timing scheme (in seconds): 3.9.6.3.3.6.1.6.3.3.6.9.3 I am curious to see what I can fit into this sequence and the assigned sequence. I also hope to experiment with rhythm in sound in some of these pieces if not all.

Traffic

Image
IDEA #1 FIRST TWELVE SECONDS  Take the center median of a busy freeway with rush hour traffic 12 seconds facing northbound, your car is in the fast lane advancing towards the camera NEXT six second SCENE Stay in the same location but pointing southbound and follow your car into the distance NEXT six second SCENE From the perspective of the driver NEXT three second SCENE From outside the passenger window at ninety degrees to the car trees tops, telephone poles or street lights whizz by one after another or down low to the road. NEXT three second SCENE move to oncoming traffic and a cyclist passing outside the car window NEXT three second SCENE   Now you are watching the cyclist go NEXT three second SCENE  from the cyclists perspective passing a pedestrian at a traffic light, zebra crossing. NEXT one second SCENE Pedestrian looks left NEXT one second SCENE  camera looks in that direction NEXT one second SCENE pedestrian looks right NEXT one second SCENE camera pans rig...

Structure Proposal-Palmer

Structure proposal as follows: choppy short clips with longer shots between of moving camera and subject 1.2.1.2 (total of 6 seconds)- Followed by a 12s shot with camera movement following a moving subject-1.2.1.2(total of 6 seconds) followed by a 24s shot with camera movement following a moving subject-1.2.1.2 (total of 6 seconds)-followed by a 12s shot with camera movement following a moving subject- 1.2.1.2 (total of 6 seconds) to finish the film.  total of 72 seconds long

Structure Proposal

Six clips, 30 seconds each:   A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3 Whereas 1 = beginning, 2 = middle, 3 = end, and A = 1 story, and meanwhile B = 2nd story, and there’s a connection between the two stories and timeline. A3, A2, A1, B1, B2, B3

Severino Film 6 Design your own structure

For this film, the structure I will be using will consist of natural light, and sound, when moving on to a new clip, I will use the overlap transition blending the 10 second clips with the 6 second clips. Also on the 10 second clips I will be using the zoom in feature. On the 6 second clip that are next to the 3 second clips I will be using the swishtilt or natural wipe. On the 10 second and 1 second clips the camera will be stationary, on the 6 and 3 second clips the camera will be moving. The sequence will be 1,3,6,10,1,3,6,10,1,1,1,1,10-,6,3,1,10,6,3,1 84 seconds.

For this film, the director should also use natural wipes. Also the composition should follow the rule of thirds. The camera and the subject can move, or the camera can stay still and the subject can stay still. The subject and camera should be moving the same amount. Whenever they want a scene to be more impactful, I want the audio to change, either get louder or much quieter. (note: the audio could wipe left to right with the natural wipe transition using channels on Premiere Pro) The sequence should be 20sec, 10sec, 5sec, 10sec, 20sec, and so on until the film ends. The creator can decide what length of clip will end the film to achieve their desired goal.

The completely stationary camera on a tripod with only horizontal rotation is allowed like a scroll of film. The camera doesn't stop moving but the speed can change.

Still Photo Time Based Media

For this assignment, I will create a series of images highlighting how quickly life flashes before us. I would like to feature a birthday cake that has candles added as time goes on and letting others burn away. I also will be adding in other elements to represent experiences and such. I was inspired by the one life in 24 hours concept. I am not super versed in photography, but am excited to learn how to edit images. This film will be on the shorter and faster paced side in order to take home the idea that life is short.

Martinez_Film 5 Proposal

Inspiration I got from the La jetty, for my fifth film will be about a man walking from the light to showing him but not his face moving down just to his feet walking along the street. going to places he been to before, just remembering his past. The film will end with him walking back into the light.

The May flies.

Image
MAYFLY: a short-lived, slender insect with delicate, transparent wings and two or three long filaments on the tail. It lives close to water, where the chiefly herbivorous aquatic larvae develop. They appear for just one day in May across England where they spend the one day that they are alive flittering through the air en masse trying to find a mate. Some are eaten by fish, some are eaten by birds, others are trampled under foot or splattered by car windshields some surely die of old age, but all are dead in the short space of a day and their like wont be seen again till one May Day next year. You awake to the knowledge that you literally have only 24 hours to live. In fact there is a clock that ticks away to emphasize the fact. What ever happens you will be dead within the 24 hour time period from which you were born. In that brief period you have no incentive to learn to speak or read and write, there's no use building a home that you'll never have time to sleep in nor do yo...

Subject : 3 June 1905 Content/Idea : To portray the idea of people living their whole life in one day by showing the process of making bread. The yeast will represent the people that are born and die within 24 hours as the viewer shows them from dry to bloom, to the dough, to inflation, and, of course, baking.

Film brief 5

For my next film I took inspiration from 14 May 1905 I plan on taking pictures at abandoned locations and of my friend Matt as the lead protagonist.  The protagonist is out exploring these abandoned places and finds a door in the middle of no where. This place is where time does not exist and he enters the other dimension and takes on a whole new journey than he planned before. In this new dimension, he discovers time can be frozen and he discovers another version of himself. For audio I plan on using natural sounds and some music that gives of an ambient mood.

For this project, the film will be divided in black and white photos and colored photos and this will show the distinction of the time traveled person. This film also includes meanwhile and therefore. There will also be some foreshadowing. For composition, I will utilize the rule of thirds and some diagonally compositions to make my images interesting. For now, I have created a basic outline of the film's story line. I will then write a creative story that will be used to narrate this film. During the scenes with no narration, there will be music. This story will include quotes from the Einsteins' dreams stories and this Einstein quote, " A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe; a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts, and his feelings as something separate from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of consciousness." Below is the basic outline for this film (Phoenix is my little brother's name): ·  ...

Film 5 Proposal

I have 3 days to live, to say goodbye, to capture visuals and experiences.  I am healthy but contemplative, in love with the life that has reached its conclusion.  What is important, who do I love, what do I love, what are the snapshots I want to keep with me of the last few days of my life?  My mothers hands, my son's necklace on his chest above his heart, making tea, taking a hike, going for a drive, etc.  I will make this a black and white video of photos with soft music and faint sound clips.  I will include text, tbd, something like poetry.  (note: Even though I love my friends and will surely Zoom with them, I will not be including any photos of technology, because, I'm not an admirer of its aesthetics.)
