 Film no. 1: One Art by Elizabeth Bishop

For this film, I will be using mostly L cut since that is common for voice overs. Also I want the audio video to be in black and white. I will show a close up of the actor's mouth/eyes  as he reads the poem. This will have dramatic lighting. For the visual portion, I will be using mostly straight cuts. I'm going to have a long pause in the audio to create some background story for my character. This break from the poem will start with a J cut. This video will follow a man in the military. The environment for the video will be outside and mountainous, maybe in a bar, and in a greenhouse or garden if possible. This film will focus on the art of loosing one's past and learning to live with it.

Film no. 2: The Deactivation of HAL 9000

  For this film, I will be using a mix of J and L cuts. The J cuts will be used to build anticipation in the film. The audio is the HAL recording. I may rearrange it to fit the story better. This film will outline the relationship between a child and their toy. I will be using natural wipes for the emotionally connected scenes, and I will use straight cuts once the interactions start becoming colder. The setting will be a mix between inside a playroom, outside in a play area, and perhaps inside a goodwill if possible. This film will focus on the art of loosing dependency on childhood objects.
